Feeding Bees During Dry Season

8/29/2023

During the dry season, bees face challenges with thirst and hunger. Although it might not be scorching hot since it's winter, bees still experience a shortage of food and water. The dry season is tough on them because there's very little in bloom, and the plants dry up. This is when they rely on us humans for assistance.

To make sure our bees are okay, we regularly check on them, providing the essential nutrients and water they need. In the dry season, bees don't produce honey; instead, they consume the honey they've stored previously. This means we can't take all the honey from their hives, as you can see in the photos where the combs are nearly empty. Without our team's help in the spot, our bees wouldn't make it through this challenging season.
